WHAT IS THE CHRISTIAN YOUTH COMMISSION?

The Christian Youth Commission  is a fellowship of Christian young people from every walk of  life, background , nations, language, culture and people group who have united together  in Christian fellowship to make a difference in their schools.  They have one goal,“To do those things that please the Lord,” They have a fivefold mission.

  1. To reach their generation for Christ. “For David…served his own generation by the will of God” Acts 13:36
  2. To build their lives on a Christian foundation. “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” I Corinthians 3:11
  3. To identify and fellowship with other young people of like-minded faith. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” I John 1:7
  4. To promote local church and community involvement. “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might ” Ecclesiastes  9:10
  5. To encourage one another. “But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; Hebrews 3:13

How does it Work?

It connects Christian young people from schools all across our county and allows them to work together in the mission Jesus has given to all of His followers. There is also available online training were every young person can receive the instruction needed for becoming a youth on a mission. The most important lessons are;

  1. Lessons on sharing the Gospel. These lessons give teen assurance of salvation and teaches them how to share the Gospel with family and friends.
  2. Lessons on the daily duties of a child of God. These lessons teach young people how to give their testimony and share their faith in daily.
  3. Lessons on what Christians Believe. These lessons teach young people how to grow in the Lord. Many other lessons will be available as the program develops.

WHO CAN BECOME A PART OF THE CHRISTIAN YOUTH COMMISSION?

  1. Young people who know Christ as their personal Saviour. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” I John 5:13
  2. Young people who are willing to identify with Christ and other believers. “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” Mathew 10:32-33
  3. Young people who believe God has a plan and purpose for every life. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
  4. Young people who put to memory the fellowship’s verse. “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.” John 8:29

Why Do We Need The Christian Youth Commission?

The reason we need the Christian Youth Commission is because the world has come to our Jerusalem. The circumstance that has driven these people to our land for refuge and hope is part of God's unfolding plan for the ages. We who know the Lord and have a measure of understanding of how God, our co-laborer works, believe this migration of people groups is taking place in order for them to have a divine encounter with the Gospel.

We have living in our cities people, who a few short years ago were thousands of miles and years of missionary planning away, but now they are here living in our Jerusalem. They have come from around the world, enrolled their children in our public schools, who are learning our language and culture, and are now part of this great nation.

In our public schools, we have children from most of the countries of the world. For example, in the Lee County schools (Ft. Myers, Florida) we have children from 149 different countries speaking 156 different languages, according to the Lee County 2017 Impact Report. They also reported that over 37,000 children live in homes where English is not the primary language spoken in the home.

We know God's will has not changed. He is "not willing that any should perish," including these precious people. We also know that our mission has not changed. For this reason the Christian Youth Commission has come into existence.
